Driving 25 km west of Hersonissos, one finds the capital city of the island, Heraklion. The Venetian Fortress of Koules imposes with its presence the harbor of Heraklion. For those guests that want to combine sea and mountain, the Lassithi Plateau is also easily reachable from the hotel. At an altitude of 800 meters, the Plateau covers an area of 25 kilometers. The traditional, picturesque, little villages and taverns, together with stone windmills that are spread all around it, create a unique scenery. The local taverns that serve traditional delicacies created from locally grown ingredients, are waiting to be explored. The inhabitants of the area are famous for their hospitality and friendliness. The myth has it, that in the preserved Cave of Dikteon Antron Zeus was born.

CretAquarium: at approx. 15km from the hotel is the biggest Mediterranean aquarium, a perfect getaway for the whole family that includes a wide variety of small and large fish. Oh, there are also some sharks! Dinosauria: a trip to the very long past, where children & adults can enjoy what animals looked like millions of years ago!

The Crete Golf Club is located only 8 km away from the hotel, in close distance to Hersonissos, one of the most important seaside resorts in Greece. An 18-hole Golf Course of international standards which has also a Golf Academy, a restaurant, a pool, and a modern Pro Shop. The location of the Crete Golf Club in the valley of the river Aposelemis is on the diachronically main road connecting the Ancient and Byzantine, city of Hersonissos on the north coast of Crete with the hinterland of the island, prominent settlements (like the ancient city Lyttos), and fertile areas in Castelli plain and Lassithi Plateau.
